As one of the five "survivors" of the first Lawrence Welk National Telecast, I am old enough (82) to know that most people my age don't really use computers. So, this site is probably going to be of most use to Caregivers of Family Members.  I helped make - or was responsible for making decisions for several of my older family members.  During that time, I became a state-certified Ombudsman* and learned what a fight it is to get decent care from some healthcare facilities. I needed all the help I could get!

The most bitter things you may need to do can be the sweetest!!

I hope you find the right directions from the data I’ve put together here. As of this moment, I feel that we old folks are viewed by the current government as too expensive!

The decisions I advise you about are terribly threatened by those who think it is their duty to somehow “cut” expenses.

NEW LEGISLATION JUST COMPLETED IN THE U.S. CONGRESS 

MAY HAVE SOME EFFECT ON ANY OF THE GUIDELINES I HAVE SET UP FOR YOU-JUST THINK HOW IT MAY BE JUST CONSIDERING THAT THERE ARE SAID TO BE 32 MILLION MORE PEOPLE WITH MEDICAL INSURANCE! ACCORDING TO THE ASSOCIATED PRESS, ABOUT SEVEN MILLION UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS WILL NOT BE INSURED UNDER THE NEW HEALTH REFORM JUST ENACTED. THE CBO (CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE) ALSO SAYS THAT THESE SAME PEOPLE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY HEALTH INSURANCE IN THE NEWLY CREATED PURCHASING POOLS CALLED EXCHANGES. 

WE WONDER HOW MANY DOCTORS WILL FOLLOW THROUGH WITH LEAVING THE  MEDICAL PROFESSION!  BIG CHANGES IN MEDICAL POPULATION CAN EASILY ALTER THE WAY INSTITUTIONS ARE MANAGED, AND THAT IS WHAT THIS SITE HAS TRIED TO ADDRESS.  AT THIS MOMENT, HEALTH CARE HAS BEEN GIVEN A NEW LOOK BY CONGRESS-BUT I DON'T DARE SAY THAT ANYTHING IS GOING TO STAY THE SAME WHEN YOU ARE IN A FACILITY.  WE'LL JUST HAVE TO WATCH!!!  WHEN I CAN GIVE YOU UPDATES, I WILL TRY TO BE TIMELY-AND I ABSOLUTELY MUST BE ACCURATE.
